Elizabeth "Betty" Ann Dickson

1924 – 2011

Betty Dickson, 87, of Pensacola, passed away, Wednesday, June 08, 2011.

Betty was born February 29, 1924 in Dayton, Ohio to John C. Breig and Emma Osterfeld Breig. She was a parishioner of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. Betty was a switchboard operator at Sacred Heart Hospital from which she retired. She loved doing craft work.

Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin Dickson and son, Jeffrey Dickson.

Survivors include her sons, John Dickson and wife Sandy, and Brian Dickson and partner Jim O’Connor; daughters, Debbie Boyette and husband Harry, and Becky Smith and husband Walter all of Pensacola; sisters, Glenna Breig of Dayton, OH, Jo Ritzert of Dayton, OH, Mertie Giambrone of Dayton, OH, Sister Ruth Breig of Oldenberg, IN, Patty Breig of Dayton, OH and Rita Wilhelm of Phoenix, AZ; four grandchildren, Jason, Staci, Scott and Chris; three great grandchildren, Parker, Sydney and Ava; sisters-in-law, Hazel Eckerle of Elberta, AL and Audrey Gill of Pensacola.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, June 13, 2011 at Oak Lawn Funeral Home.

Interment will follow at Barrancas National Cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be Scott Dickson, Chris Dickson, Jason Boyette, Jim O’Connor, George Scapin and Bill Vail. Honorary pallbearers will be Budda Fillingim, Jeff Bates, Jake Knight and Rick Morgan.

The family will receive friends from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m., Monday at the funeral home.
