

Born and raised in Colquitt Georgia to Dee and Fannie Albritton, Elma was the fourth of five children.
Nell is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Norman A. Simmons; an infant child; daughter, Vickie L. Simmons Ward; grandson, Jonathan F. Seaton; sister, Alice Cook; brother, Samuel Albritton; and half-brother, Dee Albritton.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Shari and David Seaton of Fort Walton Beach; son-in-law, Clifford Ward of Pensacola; and grandchildren: Adam Ward and spouse, Miranda Pinney Ward, of Alabama, Joshua Ward and fiancé, Julie, of Oklahoma, and Matthew Seaton; and great-grandsons Kingston Ward of Alabama and Alexander Seaton of Pensacola. In addition, she leaves behind her sister, Amelia Myrick of Mississippi and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends all of whom she adores.
All her life, Nell worked tirelessly for the efforts of helping and aiding our community for a better life for everyone. Her career with the State of Florida with the Parole and Probation Commission spanned more than twenty-five years and upon her retirement she continued her good works with the Lions Club in Pensacola raising money through fundraising, promoting new clubs, and serving as a Florida Governor. She loved sports, travel, and spending time with family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, Anyone wishing to share her memory may make a contribution to the Florida Lions Foundation for the Blind.
The family sends a special thank you to the staff with Belvedere Commons and Emerald Coast Hospice in Fort Walton Beach for their enduring support, patience and kindness.
A visitation will be held at Eastern Gate Memorial Funeral Home, located at 1985 West Nine Mile Road, Pensacola, FL 32534, on October 9, 2025, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am.
A graveside service will follow at Eastern Gate Memorial Gardens, also at 1985 West Nine Mile Road, Pensacola, FL 32534, beginning at 11:00 am.
