

Elva June (Bishop) Cooper, was born in Wilmore, Kentucky, to parents Scott Combs Bishop and Rhoda Mae (Hundley) Bishop.
June loved and served the Lord from the time of her youth as a Baptist Sunday School Teacher, Discipleship Training Director in her church as well as The Pensacola Bay Baptist Association, Church and Financial Secretary, State Church Recreation Leader, as well as Writer for the Southern Baptist Sunday School Board, and Contributing Editor to the Church Recreation Magazine. She served many years as Drama Director and Artist in Residence at Myrtle Grove Baptist Church, writing and directing many skits and drama productions.
An artist member of Quayside Gallery and Foley Art Association, she produced pottery, paintings, drawings, and portraits, winning numerous awards. She served on the Board of Directors as Public Relations Director.
As a writer, her poetry has been published and featured in several Poetry books by the National Library of Poetry. In 2005, The International Society of Poetry, choose her poem, "In This Time and Space", for a book, "The Best Poems in America", and in 2006 Noble House Publishers of England featured her poem, "The Human Race", on the first two pages of the book, "Songs of Honor". She is listed in, Who's Who in America, Who's who in the World, and Who's Who of American Women for a number of years.
June claims her greatest accomplishment is 72 faithful years of marriage to her husband and their 5 beautiful, successful children.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Lowell H. Cooper.
She is survived by her son Lowell Scott Cooper (Kimberly), daughters Linda Janet (Joel), Candace Lee (Stone), Connie Lynn (John E. Fuller), June Roxanne (Andrew); 12 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and niece Martha June Graves.
A funeral service for June will be held on Tuesday, February 10, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Oak Lawn Funeral Home, 619 North New Warrington Road, Pensacola, Florida 32506. Visitation will be held an hour prior. A committal service will be held at Barrancas National Cemetery at 2:00 p.m.
