Eugenia Flores

1953 - 2012

Ms. Eugenia (Geña) Flores lost her 9½ year battle with ALS on November 21, 2012. She was a strong willed woman and a fighter. When people met Geña, they were immediately attracted to her brilliant smile. She was born in San Juan Puerto Rico on December 23, 1953. Geña was a military brat, who lived in numerous places, including Germany, Puerto Rico, and the Continental United States. She married & moved to Duluth, GA in 1992. Gena was a parishioner at Mary Our Queen Catholic Church in Norcross.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Jorge Flores.

She is survived by her children, Joshua and Maria Bowden of Duluth, GA; sister, Laura Childress of Roswell, GA; brother, Eugenio Flores, Milton, FL; parents, Angelica Flores and Eugenio Flores-Padilla of Pensacola, FL; and several loving nieces and nephews.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, November 30, 2012 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church.

Interment will follow at St. John’s Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Thursday, November 29, 2012 at the church.
