Evelyn A. Bishop

Evelyn A. Bishop passed away after a long full life at the age of 101. She was born in Chicago, IL to Frank and Lizzie Krivanec. She married Herbert Roy Bishop, Sr. and was a military wife for many years living in California, Newfoundland and Virginia before settling in Pensacola. She was a member of St. John's Catholic Church. She was manager for many years at Davis' 5 and 10-cent store in Warrington.She was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert; son, Roland; and grandson, Shawn Michael, who also died on a Good Friday. She is survived by a son Herbert "Roy" Bishop, Jr. (Lonnie); granddaughter, Sherrie (Mike); 2 great grandchildren, Sean and Tori; several nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Kathy Bobe. We would like to send a special thanks to Dr. Prevatte, Nancy Walls, Ashley and Randy, who gave her special care these last few years.The visitation will be held at Oak Lawn Funeral Home on Tuesday, April 22, 2014 from 5pm to 7pm. The funeral mass will be held at St. John's Catholic Church on Wednesday, April 23, 2014 at 10am, with interment at 11:45am at Barrancas National Cemetery. Oak Lawn Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.
