Francis "Frank" Marion Bruce

Francis Marion Bruce, of Greer, South Carolina, son of the late Walter Leon Bruce, Sr and Lula Hembree Bruce. He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Margaret Caceres Bruce. Mr. Bruce was a retired helicopter pilot for Chevron USA. He was a US Army veteran and a resident of Pensacola, Florida. Mr. Bruce was also a 33 degree Mason and member of the Pensacola Elks Lodge.

He is also survived by one son, Rickey Marion Bruce (Betty) of Mandeville, Louisiana, two grandchildren, Jason Patrick Bruce (Sarah) of Covington, Louisiana and Jennifer Bruce Morrison (Brad) of Geismer, Louisiana, four great grandchildren, Gavin Morrison, Parker Bruce, Ella Morrison and Aubrey Bruce. Mr. Bruce is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He graduated from Greer High School and attended Army pilot training at Edward Gary Air Force Base. He also received helicopter flight training at Fort Rucker, Alabama and basic artillery training at Fort Sill, Oklahoma. He was honorably discharged at the rank of Captain from the Army Reserve.

Mr. Bruce was preceded in death by eight brothers and one sister.

A Funeral Mass will be Sunday, June 19, 2016 at 4 PM at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church with Msgr. James Flaherty officiating. Interment will follow in St. John’s Catholic Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service.
