Gary Lee Erichsen, of Pace Florida passed away peacefully on November 22, 2023 he was 81. He was born July 28, 1942 in Cornwall, New York to Anna and Charles Erichsen, he was the fourth of four children, he grew up in Highland Falls New York. After graduating from Highland Falls High School in 1960 Gary joined the Airforce and was stationed at Eglin Air Force Base.
While stationed at Eglin, Gary met the love of his life Sharon Taylor in Pensacola, they wed in 1962, then moved to Alamogordo, New Mexico. They started their family of two daughters, Shannon and Missi.
After being discharged from the Air Force Gary and family moved to Southern California, which started his career in the Automobile industry. In 1974 Gary and Sharon and their two daughters moved to Poway, California and lived there for 27 years. Gary was a wonderful husband, father and Pop-Pop and he loved cooking, which led him to open a restaurant in Poway “Gary’s Chicken and Ribs”.
In 2001 Gary and Sharon moved to Pace, Florida to retire. Gary loved to travel, One of his favorite trips was the Balloon Festival in New Mexico he also loved going on cruises to Europe and Mexico he enjoyed life on the high seas.
Gary is survived by his beloved wife Sharon; two daughters and their spouses, Shannon and Luke Karten of Vero Beach Florida and Missi and Paul Faucher of Escondido California; granddaughters Ashtyn and Kyra Faucher, Madison Karten and preceded in death Savannah Karten.
A celebration of life for Gary will be held Friday, January 26, 2024 at 11:00 AM at St. Mary's Church, 6842 Oak Street, Milton, Florida 32570.
