

Geneva took the oath on July 2, 1943 and became part of the WAVES. Soon after WWII was over, she then became one of the first women to enlist in the regular Navy. After many tours and fond memories which included marrying her husband, Chief Warrant Officer, Harry J. Woods, in June of 1953. She retired from the Navy on February 2, 1963.
She is preceded in death by her Husband, Harry J. Woods; and all of her eight siblings.
Geneva is survived by her daughter, Sabrina Ann Crowder (John); six grandchildren, Brittney, Cheyenne, Destiny, William, and six great grandchildren (soon to be seven), Wynter, Jaxon, Kailee, Kimber, Greyson, Bailey, and Elliot due March 2022, all of whom reside in Tennessee and Tami Sederquist of Panama City, Fl an Keri Magazinovic of Ripon, California.
Visitation for Geneva will take place on Thursday, October 21, 2021 from 9:00 am - 9:45 am at Oak Lawn Funeral Home. A Graveside service will immediately follow at Barrancas National Cemetery with full military honors at 10:00 am.
