George Larry Bumpers, lovingly known as “Larry” by his friends and family, passed away peacefully at the age of 72 on May 30, 2025, in Pensacola, Florida.
Born on June 7, Larry spent his life dedicated to the people and passions he loved. He had a long and successful career in business and marketing, where his leadership and creativity left a lasting impact.
Larry is survived by his devoted wife, Lisa M. Bumpers; his loving daughter, Gena R. Glover and her husband Christopher Glover; and his cherished grandchildren, Brayden M. DeBusk, Savannah R. Glover, and Isla M. Glover. He was preceded in death by his parents, George Lee Bumpers and Frances M. Bumpers, and his brother Jimmy Bumpers. And his two special dogs whom he had and loved Ginger Bumpers and Rocco Bumpers. And his Kitty he rescued after Ivan Kittica
A family man through and through, Larry was known for his generous spirit, love of the outdoors, and unwavering loyalty to his favorite sports teams—Florida State University and the Dallas Cowboys. He was an avid hunter and found joy in the simple pleasures of life: relaxing by the pool, entertaining friends, and spending time with his grandchildren, who were the pride and joy of his life.
Larry shared a special bond with his dogs over the years, especially his long-haired dachshund, Sonny, whom he affectionately called “his boy”.
Larry Bumpers will be remembered for his kindness, humor, and the deep love he had for his family. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
