Harry J. Simoneaux Sr, 91, passed away peacefully September 18, 2012 after complications from a fall. Harry survived 26 major battles including Pearl Harbor. Originally from Donaldsonville, LA, he launched a cabinet making business, Simoneaux's Woodworks, after WWII. He attended LSU, enjoyed fishing, hunting, playing Poker, ballroom dancing. Harry relocated business and family to Pensacola FL, in 1964. Harry, a Born Again Catholic was active in the K of C, Over 55 Ballroom Dance Club, American Legion, and VFW, etc. Read more about Harry's full life at:
Survived by 6 children: Simone Simoneaux Lawson, Theresa Dupré, Amy Simoneau, Lyle Simoneaux, Chris Simoneaux, and Joie Simoneaux; 8 grandchildren: John Loftis, Clover Lawson, Sheila Lawson Engleman, Eva Lawson Knox, Beth & Adam Simoneaux, David & Miranda Simoneaux and many other relatives.
Preceded in death by: his parents Adam & Athala Simoneaux, sisters Ruth & Lois A Simoneaux, first wife & mother, Margaret Dupré, second wife Joy Sutton, eldest son Harry J. Simoneaux Jr., Grandson Michael Loftis.
Visitation is Wednesday 6 - 8 PM. At Oak Lawn Funeral Home, 619 New Warrington Road, Pensacola, FL 32506 ph: 850-453-2321. "Mass of the Resurrection" is Thursday at 11 AM at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 303 South Navy Blvd, Pensacola, FL 32507, Ph: 850-455-0356. Burial is at 12:30 PM the National Cemetery on base.
