Harvey A. Young, born December 11, 1928 in Escambia County, traveled on to be with our loving Lord on the morning of August 8, 2013. He lived a long and joyful life. He leaves behind his beloved wife of 64 years, Carolyn “Betty;” his son, Michael Wayne and daughter-in-law, Janice; his granddaughter, Tinna Marie; and great grandchildren, Sean Michael and Hailey Marie.
Harvey was a barber by trade and a home builder by heart. He owned and operated “Harvey’s Barber Shop” for over 20 years. He served in the United States Air Force for four years. He enjoyed heading to the Carolina Mountains, where he made fast friends for life with Caroll and Pat Tatham.
Harvey was a beautiful man whom we will sorely miss until we all meet again.
The family would like to especially thank Emerald Coast Hospice for their kindness during Harvey’s illness.
Funeral services will be Monday, August 12, 2013 at 2 PM at Eastern Gate Memorial Funeral Home with Chaplain Jason Adams officiating. Entombment will follow in Eastern Gate Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1 PM until the service hour.
