Hubert Raymond William Newhouse

Hubert was born in England to Albert and Gertrude Newhouse. Following school, WWII had broken out leading him to pilot training in Canada with the Royal Air Force. He loved his time in Canada traveling around while learning to fly before heading back to England.

Settling down after the war, he married Maureen Cullen and had his first daughter. In 1953, the three of them immigrated to the US, settling in Pensacola where he began working in the textile industry For Chemstrand/Monsanto until his retirement in the late 1980's.

Hubert's greatest joys in life were his adored wife, Maureen of 66 years, his four children, Patricia (Peter), Paul (Julia), Jane (William) and Peter, and later his 7 grandchildren, Sean (Christina), Jennifer (Rakesh), Cullen, Brett (Sara) Shelby, Christopher, Alexander and 5 great grandchildren, Julian, Jocelyn, Kellan, Logan and Miles.

Friends are invited to the visitation from 9:00 am to 10:00 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Lillian, Alabama, followed by a funeral Mass. Interment will be at Pine Rest Memorial Park in Foley, Alabama.

Oak Lawn Funeral Home is in charge of the funeral arrangements.
