Jacqueline Kelley Gibson

She was born in Ft. Payne, Alabama on January 26, 1926 to Oren William Kelley and Texas (Texie) Nation Kelley. Jackie attended business school in Birmingham, Alabama, and moved to Pensacola upon her graduation. She met her husband of 49 years, George W. Gibson, Jr. in 1956 and they were married in 1957.

She was a funny, loving, caring and the best cook around. She cooked her famous gumbo for many people around Pensacola. Jackie was a talented seamstress, as well, making weddings and other occasions come true for many. But most of all she was our Mom, our Nana. She loved her children and grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by us and is now at peace with Jesus and her beloved husband.

Jackie was preceded in death by her husband, parents; sister, Gloria Thurmon and brother, Jay Kelley.

Survivors include her children, Jennice G. Soley & husband, Larry, Machelle G. Waters and husband, Ron; and Douglas Gibson & wife, Cheryl; grandchildren, Justin Soley, Danielle Lynch and husband Trey, Keith Waters, Kristen Apple & husband Josh and Megan Gibson; great grandchildren, Kiara Godby-Soley, Bella Soley, Kaylee Lynch, Kendall Lynch, Hudson Apple and Annabell Apple; a dear nephew, Steve Kelley.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, February 21, 2015 at Bayview Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be, Larry Soley, Justin Soley, Ron Waters, Skip Gibson, Matt Gibson and Trey Lynch.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., Saturday at the funeral home.
