James M. Brackin, age 78 of Pensacola, passed away on July 4, 2012. He was a Veteran of the US Air Force. James was also a member of American Legion Post #340 for many years. He retired from International Paper formerly St. Regis after 30 plus years of service. He was part of the third generation in his family to work at the paper mill. Mr. Brackin was an avid hunter, fisherman and camper. He was a member of the Spring Lake Park. James was preceded in death by his wife Joann Brackin and his parents, Annie and Norman Brackin. He is survived by his children, Robert James Brackin, Deborah Metcalf, Don (Jackie) Brackin, John Brackin; five grandchildren, Damara (Chris) Spruill, Haley Metcalf, Joshua James (Teena) Brackin, Tara Brackin, Jessica Brackin; nine great grandchildren; three sisters, Marie Diamond, Margaret Faircloth, Frances (Bo) King; brother, John (Betty) Bracken. Visitation will be on Saturday, July 7, 2012 from 10:00 am till 11:00 am at Eastern Gate Memorial Funeral Home with the funeral starting at 11:00 am at the funeral home and burial to follow at Eastern Gate Memorial Gardens.
