

Jane Deborah Garcia Rhedin, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend to many, passed away on February 19th, 2024, in Pensacola, Florida. She was born on March 26th, 1957, in Springfield, Illinois to loving parents who instilled in her the values of compassion and faith.
Jane was the beloved mother of Jason Rhedin and Jennifer Kelley. Her grandchildren Chandler, Cameron, Caleb, and Cailyn brought immeasurable joy into her life. Jane's devotion to her family knew no bounds; she poured every ounce of herself into being a caring mother and grandmother. Her legacy lives on through the love she shared with those who knew her.
Joy radiated from Jane when she gave back to others—she found fulfillment in helping those in need. Her strong-willed nature allowed her to overcome any obstacle that came her way while remaining steadfastly devoted to what she believed in.
Faith played an integral role throughout Jane's journey; it provided solace during difficult times and served as a guiding light for herself and those around her.
The beach held a special place in Jane's heart—it was where she found peace amidst the crashing waves and endless expanse of sand. The tranquility of the ocean mirrored the calmness within Jane’s soul.
As a mother and grandmother, Jane exemplified boundless love and care for each member of her family. She nurtured them with unwavering support while imparting wisdom that will continue to guide them through life’s challenges.
Passionate about everything she pursued. Jane approached every aspect of life with the determination unmatched by most. Her enthusiasm left an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Family always came first for Jane; creating lasting memories with loved ones brought immense joy into both hers and their lives alike.
Jane would like to thank the Catholic Diocese for all their continued support. She loved being a part of the Diocese family.
Jane is preceded in death by Preceded in death by her father, David Garcia; Julia Ordaz Garcia; brothers, James Garcia and David Garcia.
She is survived by her sister, Florence Wells; brother, Vincent Garcia; son, Jason Rhedin and daughter-in-law, Brenda Rhedin; daughter, Jennifer Kelley and son-in-law, Shawn Kelley; grandsons, Chandler & Caleb Kelley; grandkids, Cameron & Cailyn Rhedin.
May we honor Jane’s memory by carrying forward these virtues she so wholeheartedly embodied – may we continue spreading joy through acts of generosity; may we draw strength from our faith; may we seek serenity amidst life’s tumultuous tides; may we fiercely protect our bonds with family; may we live passionately as she did until our final breaths
A visitation for Jane will be held Saturday, February 24, 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Basilica of St. Michael The Archangel, 19 N Palafox, Pensacola, FL 32502. Following the visitation will be the Mass of Christian Burial at 2:00 PM in Basilica of St. Michael the Archangel, 19 N Palafox, Pensacola, FL 32502.
Interment will immediately follow at Bayview Memorial Park, 3351 Scenic Highway.
There will be a reception following the interment at Bayview Fisher-Pou Chapel.
