

Jasper Preston (J.P.) Green, 80, died Thursday, November 21, 2013 in Pensacola, Florida. J.P. was born on September 16, 1933 in the Community of Undine, Georgia to Harvey and Bernice Green. He is survived by his loving wife, Mary Pauline Green; daughter Patti Green; son Richard Ware (Sherrie); brother Jack Green, sisters Violet Motes (Eugene) and Almeta Owens (Ponce); grandchildren Charity Pitts; Christian Ware; Amanda Manitz; Alyssa White; Preston Gregory; Travis Pitts; Meagen and Payten Adkison; Lucas Manitz; numerous nieces and nephews, as well as many close friends and golf buddies. He was predeceased by his parents, sister Oreta Nesmith and son Randall Ware. J.P. was a 1951 graduate of Commercial High School, Savannah. He retired from the Naval Air Rework Facility, Pensacola, and the United States Air Force Reserve where he proudly served as a member of the 919th Special Operations Wing at Duke Field, Florida. J.P. was an avid golfer and member of the Senior Sand Crabs.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, November 25, 2013 at Oak Lawn Funeral Home, Pensacola, with visitation one hour before the service, followed by burial with full military honors at Barrancas National Cemetery, Naval Air Station Pensacola.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Covenant Hospice at West Florida Hospital, and extends a special thanks to the dedicated nurses and aides there.
