Jimmy served his country for 26 years in the US Air Force. He was honored to serve on the Battleship Missouri. He also spent a tour of duty during the Vietnam War. Military was always an adventure, moving every few years. Some of Jimmy's duty stations were Loring AFB, Maine, Robins AFB, Georgia and Ramstein, Germany.
Jimmy was always a hard worker. After retiring from the Air Force, he went and put in another 20 years at the Naval Aviation Depot as a World Class Supplier.
Jimmy loved to work in his garden. He was always looking for his next yard project. At the age of 85 he could be found blowing oak leaves from top of the roof. He loved baseball and he was able to see the Blue Wahoos play one last game just the night before he was called to the Lord.
He missed his loving and kind wife every day, and now they are walking hand in hand together in the hereafter. The Sellers children were lucky to have such a wonderful and loving Dad. We will miss you, until we meet again...
A memorial service with full military honors was held on Friday, July 5, 2013 at 7pm, with visitation and a reception one hour prior. Oak Lawn Funeral Home was entrusted with arrangements.
