Jack proudly served his country in the Air Force Band and later worked for the Post Office where he retired. He was also an avid musician and played several instruments in the Ray Parker Big Band. He shared his love of music with his children who also played in school bands. He was our leader of the Band.
He is preceded in death by his parents, John Milton Barker Sr. and Mary Barker and his wife, Nancy Carolyn Barker.
He is survived by his five children Cathy, Jackie, Jeff, Linda, and Lanie. He has 11 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren.
He was actively involved in St. Paul’s Catholic Parish and enjoyed sailing, bowling, tennis, pickle ball, and working out at the gym.
Open visitation is at 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. with Mass following at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 11th at Saint Paul’s Catholic Church on Hyde Park Road. Jack will be laid to rest at Bayview Memorial Park, 3351 Scenic Highway. There will be a reception immediately after at Bayview Fisher-Pou Chapel.
