

John David Hendrix, a smart and caring individual, passed away on October 21, 2025, at the age of 66. Born on November 21, 1958, John was a lifelong resident of Pensacola, Florida, where he was born and raised. He remained in his childhood home throughout his life, cherished by a neighborhood that always looked out for him.
John was a talented professional in environmental controls in HVAC before his retirement. His career was marked by dedication and expertise, earning him respect and admiration from colleagues and clients alike.
In his personal life, John was very active and loved running, a passion he pursued until he was unable to continue due to health reasons. His love for music was evident in his talent as a guitar player, having played in a band during his younger years. John also had a deep affection for cats, caring for six neighborhood strays as if they were his own.
John is preceded in passing by his parents, Julian and Marian Hendrix, as well as his grandparents. He is survived by his sisters, Lucia M. Ward and Jessica Simmons; nieces, Jennifer (Michael) Reilly, Laura (Brad) Wetherell and Michele Lewis; several great-nieces and nephews; as well as many beloved friends, who were very special to John.
A graveside service will be held at Bayview Memorial Park, located at 3351 Scenic Highway, Pensacola, FL 32503, on October 27, 2025, at 1:00 pm.
John David Hendrix will be remembered fondly by all who knew him, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, talent, and a love for life.
