He graduated high school from Marion Military Institute. Following high school, he enlisted in the Marine Corps Reserves and served from 1962 – 1965. John graduated from Auburn University with a degree in Finance in 1963. He retired from Escambia County government as a Finance Officer after 20 years.
John was preceded in death by his parents, John L Warhol Sr and Mary Lucille Warhol.
John is survived by his wife, Dottie Merritt Warhol of Monroe, GA (formerly Pensacola, FL), daughter Pam (Scott) Ilg, son John (Audra) Warhol, grandson Dylan Ilg and granddaughter Avery Warhol. John is survived by sister Ruby (John) Strom. He is also survived by brothers and sisters-in-law, Doug Merritt, Mark Castleberry, Edi Castleberry, and Janis Merritt and a host of nieces and nephews.
John attended Sacred Heart Cathedral and St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Pensacola, FL. He loved to play golf and watch college football particularly Auburn University. His greatest joy was spending time with his family. His family will miss him dearly as he was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather.
