Larry was born in Crocker, South Dakota on April 24, 1926 to Lawrence Hall Wilson and Inez Marguerite Olsen. Larry moved to Pensacola in 1950 from Ortenville, Minnesota.
Larry joined the United States Navy and retired as Master Chief after 28 years. Larry attended Pensacola Junior College and worked at NAS Pensacola as a Tech Writer. He was a Veteran of the Elks VFW, a member of Lillian United Methodist Church and Camper Club, he enjoyed traveling in his Motor Home.
Larry enjoyed being outside working in his yard and being on and near the water enjoying boating and teaching people how to Ski.
Larry is preceded in death by his parents Lawrence and Inez Wilson; wife Velma Leona Williams Wilson; brother Retired Major USMC Donald Theodore Wilson; sisters Lorraine Wilson Kreft and Margaret Ann Wilson.
Larry is survived by his second wife Violet Mae Rudnick Wilson; son Lawrence H. Wilson III; daughter Brenda Faye Turkel (Seth); two grandchildren Jon Lawrence Wilson and Keri Lynne Wilson.
A Visitation & Reception for Larry will be held Monday, April 10, 2023 from 10:30 am to 11:30 am at Oak Lawn Funeral Home, 619 New Warrington Road, Pensacola, FL 32506. with Funeral Service to follow from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm, and Graveside Service immediately following 1:00 pm to 1:30 pm at Barrancas National Cemetery, 1 Cemetery Road, Pensacola, FL 32508.
