My prayers are with you all. May God continue to heal the hurt you feel and may He help you always remember the fun times and amazing memories. 
I thought we were all going to be in BIG trouble when the deck collapsed, but I remember Louise pulling me aside (I was very worried about the wrath!) and saying.. "don't worry, the deck was old and i wanted a new one anyway", and she winked at me and gave me a hug!

Louise was an angel in our lives. Our family was blessed for a lifetime when we became family.

I have many fond memories of Mrs. Leardi.  She was a fabulous teacher.  She made learning fun.  I hope you find comfort in the many memories you have of her.   My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Today I had the opportunity to attend a Memorial Service for Mrs. Leardi, my 7th grade teacher and mother to my friend, Meg Leardi Carey. Mrs. Leardi was one of those people that leaves a lasting impression on your heart. She was a woman who had great passion! Passion in her faith, passion in her teaching, passion with all in her life. You didn't dare fall asleep in her class unless you wanted to be nailed with an eraser. She was a force to be reckoned with! Yet she was our favorite teacher. She demaned attention and respect and got both.... while also getting the love and admiration of so many. Listening today as Meg spoke about her life, I learned so many more reasons to love and admire her. She was one of the greats. I hope to live my life is such a manner that I touched as many lives the way Mrs. Leardi did. She is an inspiration and I'm grateful to have crossed paths with her in my lifetime.    To the entire Leardi family - My heart breaks for all of you.  I pray that God wraps you in his love and gives you strength.

While Louise has joined our Heavenly Father, her life on earth continues in Paul's loving memories, the successes of her children whom she deeply loved, the lives of her students to whom she gave so much, the parents she helped, and her many friends who will forever remember her for her many kindnesses and great times.  Paul, Joe, Luke, Meg, and Matt, your mother's everlasting memorial is the lives of those she touched and made so much richer.  I will always remember Louise with a smile for the good times that we had.

I taught with her for many years at Aquinas and can only confirm all the wonderful qualities that have been mentioned by so many others. Louise was one of the strict but loving, caring teachers who set standards high for her students, as well as for her children.

I always enjoyed talking to Mrs. Leardi, whether I was their as a parent, the spaghetti dinner or candy mom, or as a substitute, I knew she enjoyed being at Aquinas.  She had a patience that I so respected and refer to when I have conferences with parents.  She will always be remembered in our family in a very special way.  Thank you for sharing her with us.

I was your letter carrier when you lived in Dale City.  Your neighbor, Gaile, told me of Louise's untimely passing.  You were a loving family and Louise leaves the world a better place.  Hope to make it to the memorial service at Holy Family in Dale City later this month.

Mrs. Leardi had a major impact on so many lives. I had so many great times in her class, which I still remember to this day. I can remember days when she inspired me and days when she had to set me straight on my behavior.  She always had high standards and showed how much she cared about you and your education.  I use alot of those same teaching techniques on my students today. My thoughts (and my whole family's) and prayers are with the Leardi family.  She will be greatly missed and is watching out for all of us.

Dear Mr. Leardi and family. I am so sorry to hear about Mrs. Leardi. I have such fond memories of her as my 7th grade teacher. She taught me so many things I still remember! I remember making running programs on super simple computers when RAM and REM were about the only computer terms around. I made a rabbit using asteriks.. I remember fun science experiments with eggs and moldy bread. I remember when she tripped over a bookbag in the aisle and broke her leg ??. I have used that example to tell my own students to keep the aisles clear! And I will never forget the time I passed out during mass and threw up all over Mrs. Leardi... It was open house that night at school and she had to go home and change her clothes! Most of all, I remember seeing the Leardi's at mass at Holy Family. I know Mrs. Leardi is at peace with our Lord, but your family will be in my prayers for comfort and understanding.

Dear Paul,  I am so sorry to hear the news of the huge loss in your life.  I remember several wonderful times in your home and the many times the bachelor pad in Mayport hosted dances and so enjoyed having both you and Louise. I was honored and blessed to have spent time with Louise after Cameron's birth. She was an extraordinary woman. I will miss the times we were to share as Cameron's grandmothers. I do feel that we were all so blessed by her presence on Earth. We connected as I knew she had bonded and advised my daughter, Morgan. Louise had a way about her...non-judgmental and so much compassion. The love and words of her wisdom are priceless and I will always cherish the time I was allowed to spend with her. I have thousands of memories of Mrs. Leardi it's impossible to pick just one.  I spent many of days and nights in the Leardi house I think I even had a night to clean the kitchen.  Mr and Mrs Leardi have and always will hold a very special place in my heart.  You will be greatly missed. Love Pest

As her daughter-law, I got the opportunity to LOVE my mother-in-law, for real. On a level that NO ONE could ever surpass. She helped me through a time when everything came down, and pulled me through the ruble. She was and still remains one of the truest, big hearted, Saint like person I have ever met! My Mother gave me a magnet that says “A daughter is a little girl who grows up to be a friend”.  I can honestly say that for us, this statement is entirely true.  She was my best friend… when I had a bit of news; she was always the first person I thought to tell.  When I needed advice; she was the first person I would ask.  When I had a problem; she was the one on which I would lean.  When I was crushed; she tenderly picked up the pieces.  I have no idea how I am going to get along without her.  She gave guidance without interfering and loved unconditionally.  Even if she thought I was making a mistake, she would let me go, carefully observing and ready to help.  When I would finally reach out for advice, she would give it patiently, never uttering the words “I told you so.”  As the mother of two daughters, I was hoping to have my Mother with me as we enter the teenage years.  She survived them with me, and I was relying on her to help me survive my daughters' as well.  I will always wonder how she held her tongue about some of the creatures I brought home disguised as boyfriends and how she must have known in her heart of hearts that I would eventually make the right choice if she just stayed patient and quiet.

Thank you, Mom, for your loving guidance, your quiet patience, and for being the best friend and Mother anyone could ever ask for.  I miss you terribly.

We will always remember Mrs. Leardi from our days at Aquinas.  Mrs Leardi gave so much of herself to ensure a great education for not just my children, but all children who were lucky enough to have her as their 8th grade teacher. My deepest sympathies to all the Leardi's. Those of you who knew Louise and me know what great friends we were! That friendship continued into our retirement years. During our years at Aquinas, we raised our children, saw them through high school,college, marry their better halves, and had the blessing of seeing our grandchildren. All of this we shared through email
and phone calls. The slide show brought back many memories. The most recent being the birth of Meg and Brian's daughter, Harper. I couldn't wait to see Louise when she was helping Meg out after Harper's birth. Louise, knowing how much I love babies, handed Harper to me as soon as I walked in the door at Meg's. We made decisions that weren't always popular when we taught at Aquinas (always for the benefit of our students), but our motto was, "Better to ask forgiveness than permission". Louise always said, "What are they going to do? Take away our birthday and send us to Washington!"
I've lost my best friend! We weren't just friends, but we used to joke about being each others spiritual advisor! I think it was a friendship made in heaven.

I was saddened to hear about the passing of Mrs. Leardi in church this weekend. I was one of the lucky "toads" that had her for both 7th and 8th grade.  Although she had her stern moments, she was definitely a great teacher blessed with just the right balance of humor,compassion and patience. She is one of the reasons I have such great memories at Aquinas.  
After 25 years, I returned to Aquinas as a mom.  When I walked my daughter to her classroom in August, I pointed out my 7th/8th grade classroom and told her that one of my favorite teachers used to teach in there.  

Mrs. Leardi, I was lucky to have been one of your students.  You left an imprint on me that only the best teachers can do.  May you rest in peace with our Lord and reap your heavenly rewards.

To the Leardi family, may your grief be embraced by the memories you shared with Mrs. Leardi and from the outpouring of love and support from those that where blessed enough to know her.  Believe that she has touched many and her spirit is carried within us all.

To the Leardi Family- my sincerest condolences on the passing of Mrs. Leardi.  Like so many that lived on Forge Drive, I remember her most as a mother - she was a mother to every one of us kids, no matter what our last name.  Your home was always open.  I also had the privilege of having her as my soccer coach.  Not only did she teach us soccer skills, but taught us so many other life skills, such as teamwork and perseverance as well.  I remember well her warm smile, and warm heart, and they will always be the first things I think of when I hear her name.  I was blessed to have known her for a short time in this life on earth.  My prayers are with all y'all.  May God give you comfort and peace during this difficult time.

She, Mrs. Coleman, and Mrs. Christie were truly the heart and soul of the unforgettable education I received in middle school at Aquinas. So much of my future learning was based on the fundamental things each one of them taught me. So sorry for your family's loss. Thanks for sharing her with Aquinas for so many years.

Mrs. Leardi was my 8th grade teacher and being a student at Aquinas starting from kindergarten, getting to her class (or Mrs. Coleman's), that was what we all looked forward to. Mrs. Leardi prepared all of us for high school. She was tough, yet so loving and compassionate towards all of us. She had a great sense of humor and I will always remember her. May she rest in peace!

My thoughts and prayers are with your family. Mrs. Leardi  was a wonderful teacher and I am so sorry to hear of her passing. I will never forget, how after transferring into her class from a public school, every time I looked at her like she was crazy, not understanding something she was trying to teach me, she would start in on a LONG rant about the public school system. And then got to work teaching me everything I needed to know. Wonderful teacher who will be dearly missed!

My heart is heavy for those she left behind, but please know that she is always going to be there for you to talk to. I know that you have so many wonderful stories to share about her, & remember her with.

As for me, I first met Mrs. Leardi as a 7th grade student at Aquinas. She was tough, but she did it with humor & kindness. She was hands down my favorite teacher, & like my fellow classmates I remember being called a "toad" fondly.

I would see Mrs. Leardi past Aquinas, as my friendships with her children lasted into our teens & early 20's. Hopefully the deck collapse can get some laughs now....we were all pretty sure that Luke was a done for. :)

I'm grateful to at least have a connection to the family still, & I hope that your hearts heal in time. All my love to you guys.

I was Mrs. Leardi's student in 1999. I always liked her. I'm really sad to hear about her passing. My brother, sister, and I, along with hundreds of other students who were lucky enough to have been taught by her are praying for her family. When I was in 7th grade she told the 8th grade class that I was the most polite student she had ever met. She also told me I was one of the laziest students she'd ever had. I've always kept those things in mind throughout my life as I've worked hard to change the latter and ensure that the former remains true. She was an honest woman and I greatly appreciate everything she gave to her students.

When I think of Mrs Leardi, I think of the Farmer Court family picnics, of a gang of wild kids roaming the streets being watched over as if each one of us were her own.  I think of a caring mother, a wonderful wife, and a friendly neighbor.  The world is a better place having known Louise Leardi.

Mom Leardi was a truly Holy Spirit filled woman who consistently displayed the fruits of the Spirit... Love, Joy, Peace, Patience, Kindness, Goodness and Self Control.  She was wonderful to be around and she helped people whenever it was needed.  She was unselfish and giving.  I know she is with God now and still praying for all of us.  I will look forward to seeing her again and miss her greatly here on earth.  Let us honor her memory by trying to live the kind of life she did and live by the power of the Holy Spirit.
