Margaret S. Barthel

Margaret was a graduate of London High School, Jacksonville, Florida in 1949 and Pensacola Junior College. She was in the Navy Wives of America, DAR, JDC and was a descendant of the Pioneer Wilds Family of Wilds Landing, Nassau County, Florida and the Pioneer Braddock Family of the Plantation Sandhill, Nassau County. She retired from Baptist Hospital, Pensacola.

Margaret had three children, three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Margaret was always working for the school band program at Pensacola High School and Tate High School. She was a member of Lakeview Church.

She has as her main hobby quilting, reading, American history, writing and family genealogy.

Her survivors are her husband of 60 years, William Barthel, daughters Elizabeth Barthel and Barbara Rogers, son Bill Barthel, Jr., granddaughter Anna Maria Guentert, grandsons Ronaldo Cabana and Christopher Rogers and three great-grandchildren.

There will be a visitation at Eastern Gate Memorial Funeral Home on Tuesday, March 15, 2016 from 10:30-11:30, with services to begin at 11:30 at Eastern Gate Memorial Funeral Home. Interment to follow at Barrancas National Cemetery. There will be a light lunch at the home, 4510 Guerlain Way, for friends and relatives.
