1 John 4:7 Beloved, let us love one another, for love springs from God; and he who loves (his fellow men) is begotten (born) of God and is coming (progressively) to know and understand God (to perceive and recognize and get a better and clearer knowledge of Him). :8 He who does not love has not become acquainted with God (does not and never did know Him), for God is love.
Our Mother, Grandma, Great Grandma and friend Mary has always been a well-spring of love for her family and friends. She was dearly loved, and she was also a gracious, graceful and grateful recipient of our love. Mary enjoyed many exclusive relationships over the course of her life and within her family and extended family. Grateful are we who have been recipients of her love (and many kindnesses) and who have had the opportunity to love her in return. Our hearts are sorely broken but we do look forward to our reunion with her in the Lord Jesus, The Christ.
Mary was born in Nixon, Nevada near beautiful Pyramid Lake on January 24, 1932, and passed away on July 2, 2025, following a period of decline at the age of 93 in Pensacola, Florida, her home since 1969.
2 Corinthians 5:8 “To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord “. Though Mary suffered from glaucoma for many years and became blind, we are comforted and filled with joy that she is now gazing at the Face of her Savior with perfect eyesight. And that is not all! Mary will also rejoice in her Savior, the Author and Finisher of her Faith, in a perfect, strong body that replaces the body that grew frail with age.We witnessed Mary’s faith as she endured under the Truth that Love is long suffering. We are grateful for the memories that she often encouraged us, saying “Be of good cheer!” She was grateful for refreshing Living Water when reminded that she is accepted in The Beloved, Jesus, in the last trial of her faith.
Mary was preceded in death by Ed Tomlin Jr., her husband of 48 years; their daughters Angela Faye Tomlin Harrell and Frances Annette Tomlin; and grandson Anthony Eddie Vana.
