Michael Douglas Mahaffey, age 67, of Pensacola, Florida passed away on Saturday, November 28, 2020. Michael was born February 19, 1953 in Pensacola, Florida to John Stuart Mahaffey and Betty Lorraine McGuire Mahaffey.
Michael retired after 20 years of service as a Petty Officer First Class in the United States Navy. He was a long time member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Michael enjoyed spending time with his family, and collecting stamps and coins in his spare time. Michael was a considerate and loving husband, father, and grandfather.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John Stuart Mahaffey and Betty Lorraine McGuire Mahaffey; brother, Stuart Marwood Mahaffey; and son, Douglas Stuart Mahaffey.
Michael is survived by his loving wife, Jean Frances Mahaffey; sons, Shawn Anthony Mahaffey and J. Johnathan Williams; daughter-in-law, Sara Elizabeth Speed Mahaffey; and two grandchildren.
A visitation for Michael will be held 8:30 am to 9:30 am on Monday, December 7, 2020 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 5673 N 9th Ave, Pensacola, FL 32504. A funeral service will begin at 9:30 am. A graveside service will immediately follow at 11:00 am at Barrancas National Cemetery, 1 Cemetery Road, Pensacola, FL 32508.
