Mitchell Robert Jones

1970-2010

Mitchell Robert Jones died peacefully on Monday, February 14, 2010, surrounded by family and friends. Mitch was born September 9, 1970 in Atsugi, Japan. A Navy Junior, he lived and went to school in San Diego, Jacksonville, and Norfolk. He graduated from Woodham High School in Pensacola. He earned an Associates Degree from Brevard Community College with further studies at UWF.

Mitch was a man of many talents. He loved golf, fishing and playing softball in the city leagues. He was an accomplished musician playing guitar and bass with friends and “Aces High”, a local band that won the “Battle of the Bands” at Springfest several years ago. He recently became interested in art, especially sketching, and pursued it with a passion.

Mitch had a good heart. He was a loving father and friend to many. He will be sorely missed by all.

Mitch was preceded in death by his sister, Angela Marie Jones. He is survived by his wife, Marcie Jones; son Eric Mitchell Jones; parents Robert and Barbara Jones; sister Leta Sue Witcher, all of Pensacola, and niece Nicole Gene Witcher of Virginia Beach, VA.

Funeral services will held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, February 18 at First Presbyterian Church, 33 E Gregory St, Pensacola.

Visitation will be held from 4:00-6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 17 at Bayview Fisher-Pou Chapel, 3351 Scenic Highway.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Salvation Army.
