
Nancy Jewell Miller Lamb of Pensacola, passed away peacefully on the morning of August 31. She was 88 years old.
Born on October 13, 1929, she was the eldest daughter of Louise Lee Miller, and sister to Julian Miller and Rosa Miller Day.
Nancy grew up in Pensacola, graduating from Pensacola High School. She attended Florida State University, receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree.
While serving as a school teacher for children of U.S. servicemen in the Philippines, she met Warren Clayce Lamb, Sr. Clayce was working as a civil contractor for RCA. They were married in Pensacola on May 15, 1950.
They had two children; Warren Clayce, Jr., born in 1960 and Susan Louise, born in 1961.
The Lambs have lived in a variety of places, including Glen Burnie, Maryland, Shiraz, Iran, and Clermont, Florida. In recent years, they returned to live in Pensacola.
Throughout her life, Nancy distinguished herself for her hospitality and generosity, not only for family and friends, but also to visitors and strangers. Grounded in a strong Christian faith, she served in a variety of leadership and service roles in both church and community.
Nancy is survived by Rosa Miller Day (sister), Warren Clayce Lamb, Sr., (husband), Warren Clayce Lamb, Jr., (son), Susan Lamb Walker (daughter), and eleven grandchildren.
A 10:00 a.m. visitation will be followed by an 11:00 a.m. funeral service on Friday, September 3, 2010 at East Hill Baptist Church, 3960 Spanish Trail in Pensacola. Interment will take place at Bayview Memorial Park at 12:00 p.m.
