Nina Mae Ruschel

1933 – 2011

Nina Mae Ruschel was called home on Tuesday, February 28, 2012.

She is survived by her loving husband and best friend, Larry Ruschel; sons, David (Vicki) Ruschel and Dale (Christy) Ruschel; daughter, Dawn (Sean) Rupert; her beloved grandchildren, Kristin Ruschel, Christina(Travis) Jones, Michael (Sharon) Jones, Kyle Ruschel, Andrea Ruschel, Chance Ruschel, Jana (Steve) Simmons, Coyce (Edina) Simmons and Christopher Patchett; three great grandsons and three great granddaughters; sister-in-law, Judy Tipsword; niece, Sharon Hicks and nephew, Buddy (Carolyn) Montgerard and many friends.

She was born in Jacksonville, Florida on October 14, 1933 where she met the love of her life, Larry, her husband of 59 years. She captured the hearts of everyone she met with her selfless giving, compassion, infectious smile, and her great love for life and people. Her family meant everything to her. She was a dedicated and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and wonderful friend. She retired from Sleepy Hollow Florist with over 24 years of dedicated service.

She will be deeply missed and forever loved by her family and friends.

The family would like to express their gratitude with special thanks to Dr. James Adams and Pat at Baptist Towers and Consulate Health Care; Chris and Emily of Baptist Hospital 2-West Covenant Hospice for the kindness they showed our family and the care they gave our loved one during her time of need.

Memorial contributions may be made to Covenant Hospice, 5041 N. 12th Avenue, Pensacola, FL 32504, in lieu of flowers.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, March 02, 2012 at Oak Lawn Funeral Home with Pastor Riley Richardson officiating.

Interment will follow at Barrancas National Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Joe Jones, Gary Jones, Larry Preble, Brian Case, Frank Goodbred and Buddy Montgerard.
