

1934-2017
On July 27, 2017 Raymond Neal Presley at the age of 83 went to rest with the Lord. He was born March 30, 1934 in Monroe County, Alabama to William Neal Presley and Lucille Chandler. When Raymond was just a teenager his family moved to Pensacola where he graduated from Pensacola High School. After graduation, he joined the Air Force and served in the Korean War. When his service was complete, Raymond took a job at Monsanto Chemical Company where he retired after 19 years. He purchased some farm land and farmed for 13 years before moving back to Pensacola where he started Presley Builders. Building homes became his life’s work for the next 20 years. Raymond’s hobbies were blacksmithing and anything else he could occupy himself with in his shop. He was a man that was capable of creating beautiful and useful items from the most basic of materials.
Raymond and Dorothy dated as teenagers. They went separate ways after high school but returned to each other and married June 6th, 1978. They blended their families together with 10 children. They were married for 39 wonderful years.
Raymond is preceded in death by his parents William Neal Presley and Lucille Chandler. He is survived by his wife of 39 years Dorothy Shires Kust Presley; his siblings: Butch Brazel of Pensacola; Mike Brazel of Pensacola and Sue Hudson of Atlanta, GA; his three daughters: Cindy Brackin of Atlanta, GA, Denise Presley of Pensacola and Lisa Flores of Gulf Shores; his stepchildren: Louie Kust, Robin (Lynn) Jenkins, Christopher Kust, Lori (Victor) Joyner, Darryl (Kerry) Kust and Keith Kust, all of Pensacola and Crystal (Scott) Schaffer of Tampa, FL. Raymond had 15 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 10 A.M. to 11 A.M., Tuesday, August 1, 2017 at Eastern Gate Memorial Funeral Home, immediately followed by a service at 11:00 and then the processional to Pensacola Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be son-in-law Lynn Jenkins, sons Louie Kust, Darryl Kust, Keith Kust and grandsons Clay Helton and Nicholas Presley.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Eastern Gate Memorial Funeral Home.
