Rosetta Coleman Joyner was called to her heavenly home on March 26, 2026. Born on April 30, 1937, to Robert “Bob” and Grace Coleman of Pensacola, Florida, Rosetta lived a life defined by her unwavering faith, her devotion to her family, and a legendary love story that has now reached its eternal chapter.
Rosetta first met the love of her life, Roy, at his grandmother’s church service when she was just 12 years old. Roy, then 14, promised for years that he would “marry that girl one day.” He kept that promise, asking for her hand in marriage at midnight on January 1, 1955. They were wed on June 10, 1955, and shared 68 beautiful years of marriage until Roy’s passing in 2023. Together, they built a home filled with love, raising four sons: Roy Randal “Randy,” Ronald Devan “Ronnie,” Richard Allan “Ricky,” and Robert Scott “Robbie.”
A woman of extreme faith, Rosetta was a "prayer warrior" who prayed strongly and daily for her family. She was an excellent mother and a gifted cook who loved her family with everything she had. Her presence was the heart of her home, and while her loss is felt deeply, her family finds comfort knowing she is finally reunited with her beloved Roy.
Rosetta was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Roy Joyner; her parents, Robert “Bob” and Grace Coleman; her brothers, Ronald and Robert; her sister, Jewel; and her son, Randy (Cyndey).
She is survived by her sisters, Jeanette and Diane (Bill); her brother, Buddy (Fran); and her sons, Ronnie (Melissa), Ricky, and Robbie (Carol).
Her legacy continues through her 12 grandchildren: Miranda, Lesley, Rachael (Jerry), Scott (Laura), Caitlin (George), Ronnie (Susan), Buddy (Sherrie), Elizabeth (Josh), Carolyn (John), Jack, Brian, and Jessie; as well as 15 cherished great-grandchildren.
Visitation: The family will receive friends at Bayview Fisher-Pou on Thursday, April 2nd, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
