

Sandra Margaret West Crane passed away Thursday, July 31, 2025 at the age of 79 in Pensacola, Florida. Sandy was born November 27, 1945 in Keith, Scotland, the only child of Alexander Coulle and Catherine Anne (George) West.
Sandy grew up in Montrose, Scotland and graduated from Montrose Academy. She was working as a secretary at an automotive dealership when she met her first husband, Charles Clampitt. They traveled the globe living in Maine, Turkey, Japan, and Maryland having 3 children along the way, before retiring in Pensacola.
Sandra began teaching evening exercise classes at Pine Forest HS in 1982. She began training for marathons. Her biggest personal accomplishment being the completion of a marathon in Montrose, Scotland, with her mum in attendance. She also helped open Pensacola Athletic Center, pioneering the aerobics program.
Sandra ran the Silver Sneakers program until her retirement in 2021.
In 1986, Sandra married Stephen Crane. Sandra and Steve enjoyed countless years traveling, running, spending time with multitudes of friends and beloved grandchildren. Sandra loved her Book Club and enjoyed spending time with her Book Ladies (unofficially and lovingly referred to as “the Juliets”), and was well known for throwing the best annual Christmas parties imaginable.
Sandra will be greeted by her husband Steve, stepson Stephen Garrett, countless friends, family, and rescue pets.
She leaves behind daughter Kirsty Anne Roberg (Chris), son Iain Clampitt, daughter Katherine Meredith Owens (Dale). Grandchildren Kyleigh Thomas (Te’Moi), Dustin Roberg, Danica Rutland, Maeve Carroll, Maggie Carroll (Sam), Elijah Owens (Cecelia), and Caidan Clampitt. Great Grandchildren Teigan, Te’Liah and Telaija Thomas; as well as her trusty sidekick YorkiePoo Ziggy Macaroni and her best friend and partner in crime Hope Sullivan.
Our mum always said she had truly lived a wonderful life.
