Sharon Louise Barnett Dickson, 77, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 13, 2025. She was born on February 16, 1948, in Pensacola, Florida, to Joyce Louise (Jennings) Barnett and Adrian Nealy Barnett. A graduate of Escambia High School’s Class of 1966, Sharon devoted her early years to raising her three sons. Later in life, she followed her dream of returning to school, earning her Associate in Science degree from Pensacola State College. She went on to work as a physical therapist assistant, dedicating her career to caring for the elderly, a population she cherished deeply.
Sharon’s greatest joy was her family. She is survived by her husband, James B. Dickson; her sons, Thomas Brewster Jr., Jason (Christine) Brewster, and David Brewster; stepdaughters Kellie (David) Driver and Kristin Cooper; and her grandchildren Nicholas Brewster, Noah Brewster, Carson Cooper, Camden Cooper, Diana (Simon) Hilsman, and Drake Driver. She is also survived by her brothers, Brian Barnett and Mark Barnett (Tina), her sister in-law Sherry Barnett, many nieces and nephews as well as her cherished pets—a Toy Poodle Marlee and Japanese Bobtail cat Cali—who were constant companions.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Tom Barnett, and her sister Nancy Barnett.
Sharon will be remembered for her strength, compassion, her devotion to her family, and her love for animals.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Gretchen Jackson for her devoted care and compassion during Sharon’s final years.
Visitation will be held at Bayview Fisher-Pou Chapel on Saturday, August 23, 2025 from 9:00 to 10:00 am with the service beginning at 10:00 am. Burial to be held at Bayview Memorial Park immediately following the service.
