

Sybil Littlejohn Wells passed from this life after 94 years of a full life of family, friends, adventure and fulfillment. Born in LaFayette GA in the throes of the depression, she was the daughter of an Adventist preacher and loving mother. She graduated from LaFayette High School. While still very young she worked as a seamstress during WWII, where they insisted she slow her pace because she kept burning up the machines.
She married Calvin Wells in 1950 and moved to the Atlanta GA area where they remained for 62 years. Her sons Mark b.1960 and Mike b.1967 enjoyed a happy and loving home full of travel, sports, and always a full table of nourishment for the belly as well as the spirit. Family reunions, Thanksgiving and Christmas were her favorites gatherings because she was surrounded by family. Moving finally to Pensacola FL in 2012 with Calvin to be close to family.
She worked for Bell South and later AT&T until retirement supervising an accounting division where she was greatly respected and admired for her leadership and support. She then began another career in Real Estate at Max Stancil Century 21 in Woodstock GA helping families realize their dream of home ownership.
She kept a fine garden with the help of Calvin in their later years growing and canning tomatoes, beans, squash, okra and corn to name a few. Her menu always included fresh vegetables and cornbread for Calvin.
She loved to travel by car, boat or plane, seeing most of America and visiting Canada and her favorite trip of all to Paris, France with her cadre of ladies who remained friends for life.
Fair and just to all who knew her, she will be missed but always remembered for her strength and conviction to her faith. Preceded in death by her father William Everette Littlejohn and mother Foye Almond Littlejohn, brother Jackie Littlejohn and sister Lillian Higginbotham. Survived by sons Mark and Mike, grandson Kush Neelam Wells and granddaughter Katherine Marie Wells.
A committal service will be held at Barrancas National Cemetery, located at 1 Cemetery Rd, Pensacola, FL, 32508, US. The service is scheduled for January 22, 2026, at 10:00 am.
