On December 10, 2023, Teresa Kay Gulsby of Pensacola, Florida departed this world following a lengthy battle with chronic health complications. She passed peacefully with her loving husband at her side comforting her.
Teresa was born on January 20, 1960, to Jesse K. Kirkey and Maudell Cherry Kirksey in Pensacola, Florida. She was the youngest of nine siblings.
Teresa’s happy place in this world was in the peace, comfort, and security she found at home with her husband Johnny Ray where they lived together for more than 20 years. One of her favorite things to do was to care for her pets. She had a special relationship with them. She was passionate about loving and caring for them. She treated and considered them family. Teresa was quick witted, funny and she did not waste her time on sugar coating life. If you need an honest opinion then she was your go-to because she was sincere, honest, and spoke from the heart. She was loyal and kind to those she loved so dearly.
She is survived by her loving husband Johnny Ray Gulsby of Pensacola, Florida. Her two stepchildren, Tammy Evers of Gulf Breeze, Florida and Bubba Gulsby and wife Kaye of Molino, Florida. Three grandchildren, Brionnah Williams and husband Shaun of Gulf Breeze, Florida, “BJ” Bobby Evers, Jr. of Gulf Breeze, Florida and Dylan Gulsby of Auburn, Alabama. One great-grandchild Juliana Williams of Gulf Breeze, FL., a brother, Kenneth David Powell and wife Marguerite of Texas, two sisters, Mildred Marie “Pat” Mata of Texas and Tina Diane Pfeiffer (Sterling) of Port St. Joe, Florida.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jesse K. Kirkey and Maudell Cherry Kirksey, her brothers, Frank Wendell Powell and Thomas Grady Powell, her sisters, Barbara Powell Shuman, Cora Patricia Brooks and Gloria Faye Kirksey.
Teresa Kay Gulsby will be deeply missed by her husband, family, friends, and fur family members. Her memory will forever be treasured. May she find eternal peace and rest in the comforts of heaven.
