

Mrs. Stark was born in Washington D.C., and moved to Pensacola in 1948.
Mrs. Stark was preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, Charles Richard
Stark and her brother, Frank Simmons of Virginia.
Survivors include her daughters, Linda Stark and Jamie Stark Costa; grandson, Gregory Costa, (Sally); granddaughter, Ashley Costa Gay, (Tom); great grandson, Nolan Costa; sister-in-law, Jan Simmons and cousin, Bernice Creed.
Shortly after moving to Pensacola, she worked as a switchboard operator at the San Carlos Hotel. Mrs. Stark was most known for her long career with the Holiday Inn Corporation as the Executive House Keeper for several of their hotels. After retiring from the Holiday Inn, she worked for Dr. Kathryn Stuart until finally retiring at the age of 83. At that time, she was the oldest employee of Sacred Heart Hospital.
Not only did she have a career, she was active in her daughters’ lives as a Girl Scout leader and school volunteer. She loved spending time with her family, going to the beach, camping at Fort Pickens, Woodham High School football games. But most of all, she enjoyed being part of the many activities her daughters, grandchildren, and great grandson were involved in.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Laura Meyer who was Mrs. Stark’s caregiver for the last two years.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, January 07, 2016 at Bayview Fisher-Pou Chapel with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Bayview Memorial Park.
