He was born on February 5, 1939 in Montgomery, Alabama and moved to Pensacola when he was 10. He was a graduate of Pensacola High School, Class of 1957. He loved hunting, fishing, watching Alabama Football games, and coaching baseball at Myrtle Grove ballpark. He was the owner of Tom Rogers Drywall, Inc.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 46 years, Betty Jo (Malbeck) Rogers. He is survived by his son, James Edward Rogers of Trinity N.C. and grandchildren, Daulton Rogers, Jarrod Rogers, and Anna Kate Patterson; his girlfriend Nancy Dyson and her family; and his brother Ben Rogers and his wife Malinda.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, April 28, 2022 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Oak Lawn Funeral Home with services to be held on Friday, April 29, 2022 at 1:00 pm at Myrtle Grove Baptist Church.
Interment follows in Myrtle Grove Cemetery.
Active Pallbearers will be Daulton Rogers, Jarrod Rogers, Tony Dyson, Scott Dyson, Dan Paul, and Jeff Paul.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Sonny Manning, Ronnie Risher, and Hal Driver.
Oak Lawn Funeral Home will be in charge of arrangements.
