

A former resident of Venice, La where he was an active member with the Boothville-Venice Volunteer Fire Department. He began his career at Deltone and became an electrician. He ended his career at New Industries in Morgan City, LA as a Master Electrician.
Flander passed away at his home on February 21, 2022 with his wife Denise at his side, in Milton, Florida.
He is survived by his wife of 10 years, they were together for 13, Denise Froreich Mayer of Morgan City, La. and Milton, Florida.
His children Jacklyn Veazey (Corey) of Houma, La Thurlow F Mayer lll (Marisa) of Slidell, La Paul J Mayer of Houma, La., Dylan Kent (Cricket) of Denham Springs, La., Reanna Benoit of Jennings, La., Dustin Aucoin of Texas. His parents Raquel and Donald Buras of Berwick, La. His brother Michael Mayer of Berwick, La. His sisters Cecilia Schmidt of Texarkana, Texas, Grace Mayer of Berwick, La., Evelyn Mayer of Kenner, La., Rhonda Mayer of Berwick, La., Maggie Evans (James) of Bayou Vista, La., Amelia Despaux (Mike) of Berwick, La. Also survived by 11 grandchildren that so lovingly called him Paw-Paw Fishy and many nieces and nephews that called him Uncle Fishy.
He is preceded in death by his father Thurlow F Mayer Sr., his four brothers: Albert, Mark, Jerry, and Mathew Mayer, and his son Rudy Aucoin.
A memorial will be held at a later date for family and friends.
