Cindy & Scott,
I will always treasure the childhood memories we had! Your mom was so precious and you took such good care of her! Love you

It was such a let down hearing that my dear friend had passed away. I know she is with the Lord in Heaven. No more tears, or pain . Velma was a wonderful life- long friend that I have know most of my life. We went to Sunday school together. And usually after church we would go either to their house or ours for a wonderful Sunday dinner. Those days were so memorable and I remember that my self, Pauline , Velda, and Velma singing In the kitchen while we did the dishes, made for a shorter stay in the kitchen. We loved doing that, and made pretty good harmony.
One other Special memory is when Velma came home from the hospital after giving birth to her first baby Steven, she had to stop by my house to show me this bundle of joy. Oh! what a beautiful baby! We both cried with joy! I didn’t want to give him up.
I remember talking on the phone about the Lord and Velma never got tired. We would talk so long that the batteries in our phones would go dead. But we enjoyed every minute. Velma, you will be greatly missed! Alice Blaker
