Virginia S. Nelson

Virginia passed away Wednesday, May 3rd, 2017. She was born in Alturus, Florida September 6, 1923. A devoted wife and loving mother and grandmother, she is now in the arms of our heavenly Father. Virginia and her husband, Leo Cranford Nelson, Sr., of 67 years had five children: Diane Nelson Gould (Charlie), Soozi Nelson Pate (Jerry), Gregory A. Nelson I, Rosemarie Nelson Lietzke (Bruce) and Leo C. Nelson, Jr. (Melissa). Eleven grandchildren: Quint Higdon (Lindsey), Somer N. Radina (James), Jennifer Pate Buckley, Wesley Pate (Courtney), Jamie Pate (Leighton), Stephen Lietzke, Christine Lietzke Ablondi (Aaron), Alan Nelson (Anna), Sarah Nelson Brewer (Troupe), Luke and Noah Nelson and nine great-grandchildren: Chaz and Mason Higdon, Walton, Charleston, Anna Grace Buckley, Reid Pate, Luke & Elizabeth Ablondi and Eleana Nelson.

Virginia retired from Civil Service, NAS Sherman Field and was a member of St. Paul’s Catholic Church.

Services will be held at 1:00, Sunday, May 7th at St. Paul’s Church on Hyde Park Road followed by entombment at Bayview Memorial Park, Chapel of Peace with a Celebration of Life at the Pate home immediately after.
