Wayne "Tony" Anthony Strother

He was preceded in death by Paternal Grandparents, Samuel Franklin and Alma (Elliot) Strother, Maternal Grandparents, John Quincy and Mattie Mallie (Caraway) Wise, his Dad Louis Samuel Strother and Brother Michael Terence “Terry” Strother.

He is survived by his Mother, Jeannette Strother, Brothers Timothy Lamont (Tim) Strother and Troy Brian Strother and Wife Kris. Tony was married to Barbara Ann Miller. The mother of his children, Daughter Heather Lynn and Husband Donald McCoy and their Children, Hunter DePriest, Laurie, Donald, Michael, and Justin McCoy. His Son Wayne Anthony Strother Jr and his Wife Janice and their children Kacie and Andrew. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and a large extended family.

His early work life was spend in the oil fields of Louisiana. He returned to Pensacola to work as a commercial fisherman. When not fishing, he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and family.

A heartfelt thanks goes out to Coven and Hospice Nurses and CNA’s for their care and compassion to Tony during his illness. Tony’s request was for Don Berry, Hospice Chaplain to perform the services that will take place at Eastern Gate Funeral Home Tuesday, July 28. Visitation starting at 2:00, services to follow at 3:00.
