

Bill was born March 31, 1932 in Billerica, MA to Harold and Marie Gove. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force, and was a Korean War veteran.
Bill had a lifelong love of aviation. He entered the Air Force in 1950 and was an aircraft mechanic and electrician. After his discharge he became a civilian employee of the Air Force, working as an aviation electrician until he was hired by the FAA in 1961. The majority of his career was spent as an electronics technician maintaining equipment associated with air traffic ground navigation and radar systems. Bill held numerous pilot certificates over his lifetime, including single engine, float plane, and commercial flight instructor (instrument). He was a member of the Pensacola Navy Flying Club for many years.
He had a special love for the woods of New Hampshire, where he and his wife spent their summers after retirement. Spending time with his family, both in Pensacola and New Hampshire gave him such joy in his later years.
Bill is preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Marie Gove; brothers, Harold (Mick) Gove, Frank Gove, Robert Gove and Thomas Gove; sister, Marie Gove Cormier and daughter, Laurie Ann Murphy.
He is survived by his wife, Victoria Gove; daughters, Priscilla (Sam) Forester, Virginia (Ken) Carley and Theresa (Jimmy) Morehouse; brothers, Peter Gove and John (Helene) Gove; grandchildren, William (Lauren) Blair, Brandie Ward, Christian Steffanini, Jordan Steffanini, Anna Steffanini, Mia Morehouse and Livvy Morehouse; great grandson, Joseph Lister and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, October 09, 2017 at Bayview Fisher-Pou Chapel. Interment will follow at Bayview Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m., Monday.
