

She was born Jan. 6, 1949 in Macon, MO to Alpha and Nellie (Hornbeck) Agler. She first married Donald Downey and later married Scott Mariner on July 12, 1997 in Peoria. He survives along with two daughters: Donna (Jeff) Angstrom of Davenport, IA, Jennifer (Melanie) Downey of Peoria, three grandchildren: Adreanne Conger, Hali (Jason) Russell and Preston Angstrom all of Davenport, two great-grandsons: Hayden, Daylin, and three sisters: Mary (Ed) Livingston of Texas, Virginia (John) Muler of Texas, and Doris (Kenneth) Richardson of Macon, MO.
She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers: Willard, Donald, Norman, and two sisters: Esther and Gale.
Alfa worked at the Walmart on Allen Road in Peoria and was a Bus Driver for District 150 for 8 years retiring in 2011. She enjoyed bowling with the Peoria Blind Bowlers Association.
Cremation rites have been accorded. A Celebration of Alfa’s Life will be from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday Aug. 6, 2016 at her daughter-in-laws home at 1013 N Wildwood Court in Peoria. Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
Memorials may be made to the Richard L. Owens Hospice Home or the American Cancer Society.
