She was born December 4, 1919 in Peoria, a daughter of Arthur A. and Viola Bolton Samms, she first married Stephen Vinovich he preceded her in death. She later married Kenneth E. Hany in January of 1959, he also preceded her in death.
She was also preceded in death by one brother, Arthur William Samms, and one sister, Mildred Viola Nieukirk.
Surviving are one son, Rodney E. (Nancy) Hany of Marquette Heights; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mae (Paul) Magunson of Pekin, and Judith (Marion) Beeney of East Peoria; and several nieces and nephews.
She first worked as a Baker for Kramer’s Restaurant in Peoria, and retired from Wahfeld’s Manufacturing in Peoria.
She enjoyed a variety of dancing.
Funeral Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, November 4, 2010 at Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel in Peoria. Pastor Michael McCoskey will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to the services at the chapel. Burial will be in Swan Lake Memory Gardens in Peoria.
