Barbara had a short but brave struggle with cancer, but it did not stop her from enjoying loving visits from all of her family. She always loved her fur babies, Barney and Susi-q. They have helped make her final days very special.
Barbara was employed as a Journeyman at Champion Furnace Company in Peoria, Illinois for many years before her retirement. Barbara began her working career in the 1940s at the Peoria Hotel Pere Marquette. She met her future husband, Henry, there and they were seldom apart for the next 74 years of marriage. During the rough and tumble days of both of them working and raising a family together, Barbara and Henry remained extremely devoted to each other. This was especially true during Barbara's final days on this good Earth.
Henry and Barbara's children are Edward (Barb) Horn, Michael (Rachel) Horn, and Linda (Jim) Lowrance. Barbara also leaves behind six grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, and four great-great grandchildren.
Though Barbara's health was failing during the past two years, few people knew the extent to which she struggled. Her strength and fortitude were, and always have been inspiring.
Barbara will now rest in the peace of the universe from which her life began. The essence of her dear parents, Gladys and Lawrence Robinson, as well as her three brothers, Lawrence Jr, Howard, Jerry and her sister Lucille, will be reunited with Barbara's and they shall be a family again forever.
No formal services are planned; however, Barbara's friends and family will be invited to say final goodbyes at a Celebration of Barbara's life at a later date. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to any dog rescue organization. Barbara would have been thrilled by that.
Per her wishes, cremation rites have been accorded. Inurnment will be in Chillicothe City Cemetery.
Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel is in charge of arrangements. Online condolences may be made at www.davison-fulton.com
