Betty Marie Anderson

Betty Marie Anderson, 96, of Lacon, formerly of Morton, passed away on Wednesday, May 25, 2022 at Lacon Rehab and Nursing. She was born on October 12, 1925 in Astoria, a daughter of Lewis and Effie Mae (Burgard) Brillhart. She married James Miles Anderson on May 8, 1946 in Peoria. He preceded her in death on July 18, 2009 in Morton.

Betty was also preceded in death by her parents; one daughter-in-law, Deborah Anderson; one great-grandson, William Anderson; four brothers; and two sisters.

She is survived by her three sons, James Miles (Michele) Anderson, Jr. of Peoria, Donald (Susan) Anderson of St. Louis, MO, and Gary (Geri) Anderson of East Peoria; seven grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.

Betty was a graduate of Manual Training High School, Class of 1943.

She last worked as the head technician in the EKG Department at OSF St. Francis Medical Center, retiring in 1988 after 25 years of service.

Betty is a member of Advent Lutheran Church in Morton, the Order of the Eastern Star Joseph Robbins Lodge #930 in Bartonville, and OSF Senior Saints Club. She loved to travel with her husband to Shriner's events, crochet, and watch her grandchildren play sports. Betty also was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan.

She looked forward to Sundays when family came to visit and have donuts. The family would like to thank all her neighbors on Clark St. who visited with her and watched out for her, especially Ray.

Betty's funeral service will be at 11:00 am Wednesday, June 1, 2022 at Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel in Peoria. Pastor Howard Love will officiate. Her visitation will be from 10:00 am to 11:00 am also on Wednesday at the funeral chapel. Burial will be in Swan Lake Memory Gardens in Peoria.
