

She was born on May 10, 1939 in La Harpe, Illinois to Mary Head. She married Michael Hays on February 3, 1990 in East Peoria. He survives.
Also surviving are her children, Bruce Neeley, Brent Neeley, Linda (Neeley) Parker, Lea Ann (Bowers) Fairall; grandchildren, Erik Neeley, Jason Neeley, Sarah Parker, Joshua Parker, Crystal Neeley, Adam Neeley; several great-grandchildren; and her brother, David Hatten.
She is preceded in death by her mother and step-father, Mary and Lee Hatten; daughter, Laura Bowers; and granddaughter, Cheri Neeley.
Bonnie worked for Peoria Housing Authority for many years until her retirement. She was a former member of Peoria Poetry Club and Toast Masters. Bonnie was also a proud member of Days of Grace Church in Morton, Illinois.
Bonnie's faith and love in the Lord was strong. She was very creative and loved crafting. She made calendars, magnets, crochet (selling some of her work), and lots of floral arrangements. Bonnie also enjoyed reading and writing poetry. She even had some of her work published.
A visitation will be held at Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel on Thursday, January 30, 2025 from 5-7pm. Her funeral service will be held at Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel on Friday, January 31, 2025 at 11am, with an additional visitation to start an hour prior at 10am. Entombment will follow at Parkview Cemetery.
