

He was born April 26, 1927 in Peoria, the son of Walter and Blanche Chinowth Hayes. He married Marjorie Crowley in Peoria on October 8, 1949.
Budy is survived by his wife of sixty-five years; one son, Michael (Ann) Hayes of El Dorado, AR; one daughter, Sally Mesa of Chicago; four grandchildren, Celeste (Trey) Jackson, Sally (Garrett) Watkins, Marco Mesa, and Anna Mesa; six step-grandchildren, Scott Post, Jean(Bobby) Burson, Drs. Jill (Ned) Pillow, Lourdes (Robert) Gonzales, Teresa (Augusto) Delgado, and Dr. Ruben (Kristin) Mesa; five great-grandchildren, twelve step-great-grandchildren, and two step-great-great-grandchildren ; one sister, Thelma Ackerman of Morton.
He retired after 37 years as a supervisor for meter readers and customer service at CILCO in 1984.
Budy was a U.S. Army veteran. He was a member of Veteran’s of Foreign Wars Post 814, The American Legion, and Moose Lodge # 916. He is a 1945 Manual High School graduate.
He was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church.
Margie was the love of his life, his children gave special meaning to his life, and his grandchildren were the ultimate joy of his life.
He is preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Susan Hayes; three sisters, one brother; and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Monday January 5, 2015 at Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel. Visitation will be Sunday, January 4, 2015 from 2:00-4:00 p.m. and one hour prior to services.
Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery.
