She was born February 9, 1925 in Clarence, MO to Leet and Mannie (Stohr) Dicks. She married James W. “Bud” Hostetter on July 14, 1946 in Kansas City, MO. He preceded her in death on June 17, 2015.
She also was preceded in death by her brothers, Orland, Raymond, Leo and Nolan, and her sisters Vena Dunlap and Frieda Saxe.
Kaye is survived by her loving family and friends which include; her sisters-in-law, Hermaline, Laverne, Dolores and Norma; numerous nieces and nephews, whom she loved dearly; and her beloved cats, Freebie and Callie.
For 30 years Kaye was a cashier in the cafeterias serving the Caterpillar Inc. factories in East Peoria, until she retired in 1977.
She enjoyed playing cards, canning, gardening and caring for her cats. She will be remembered for the love she gave us and her wonderful sense of humor.
Bud and Kaye held a deep love for animals of all kinds; providing a home for a variety of four-legged, furry and feathered family members. Having no children of their own, they loved the children of others as if they were their own.
Aunt Kaye will be missed so much, but we take comfort knowing she is with Uncle Buddy again.
The family would like to express their thanks to Heddington Oaks for the care and love they gave to Bud and Kaye.
Visitation will be from 9:30 am to 10:30 am on Monday, August 3, 2015 at the Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel in Peoria. The family will hold a private funeral following the visitation with Pastor Jim Vincent of the 2nd Baptist Church in Peoria, where Kaye had attended, officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery in Farmington.
Memorials are suggested to the Best Friends Animal Sanctuary in Utah.
Arrangements under the direction of Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel, Peoria, IL.
