

Chuck grew up on the Peoria north side enlisting in the Army and serving with the 2-505th Parachute Infantry Regiment from 1972 to 1975, becoming ranger qualified and reaching the rank of Sergeant. Upon completion of his honorable service, he attended and graduated Southern Illinois University at Carbondale earning a Bachelors Degree in Engineering. Then serving in a variety of Engineering capacities, including the Holiday Inn Peoria Chief Building Engineer, before retiring in 2002.
Chuck was a past member of the AMVETS in Peoria and enjoyed riding his Harley, fishing, building and playing guitar, and treating his family to the best homemade barbeque you’ve ever had.
Born to Donald Woods and Virginia Galloway on January 19, 1955, he is survived by his tenderhearted wife Kathleen Couch;his five children, Steven (Rhonda) Ortiz, Sarah (Scott) Voigt, Alonzo "Lonnie" (Karen) Ortiz, Christopher (Caitlin) Cecil and Brent Woods; eight grandchildren, Christopher (Amanda) Rebout, Tiffany Ortiz, Karissa McMillan, Jade McMillan, BaiLee Cecil, Charles Voigt, Mavis Cecil, and Raven Cecil; five great-grandchildren, Trennan Sanders, Jaliyah Sanders, Niyah Sanders, Niall Rebout, and Callum Rebout; three siblings, John Woods, Jodi Woods, and Lyn Stevens-Wilcox, and many much loved nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents Donald Woods and Virginia Galloway and siblings Barbara, Sue, Donny, and Bill;and niece, Tracy Warnke.
Cremation will be accorded in conformance with his wishes and a private celebration of life will be held at a later date. Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
