Cherrie L. Thrush, 69, of Peoria, passed away Thursday, April 13, 2017 at OSf surrounded by her loving family and friends. She was born to Woodrow and Ethel Hulbert Sr. in Hermanville Miss. September 22, 1947. Everyone knew Cherrie loved going to the casino in her free time to play her favorite slot machine “Mr Cash Man” but she also loved to cook for her family and was a member of the Elks Lodge in Peoria as well as Bethel United Methodist Church. Cherrie was known as a hard worker and worked at Wabco for 15 years and retired from the Local 231 Labor Union after 22 years. She is survived by her daughter Denisea Shields of Peoria, her mother Ethel Hulbert of Peoria, her sister Hazel Spencer of Peoria, and grandchildren Ryan Shields and Alyssa Laney of Peoria. Cherrie is preceded in death by her father Woodrow Hulbert Sr. and her brother Woodrow Hulbert Jr. Funeral rites have been accorded by Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel. A visitation will be held Wednesday April 19, 2017 from 9-11am and a service to follow at Bethel United Methodist Church in Peoria. Interment will be held at Springdale Cemetery in Peoria.
